Circa 1840 Blue and White Transferware Ceramic Drainer or Strainer

Antique English Ceramic Blue and White Transferware Drainer or Strainer Circa 1840

Antique English ceramic blue and white transferware drainer or strainer made to fit in the center of a platter. This transferware drainer is English and is in the "Pekin Sketches" pattern. The pottery marks show the maker as I C. It dates to circa 1830-40. The scene is done in varying shades of pale blue and shows many things including a tall urn full of flowers, a pagoda/temple, 2 people, a waterfall, an ornate wall in the foreground, a lake, a boat with people, and willow trees. Very pretty scene. This drainer measures approx. 8 3/4" by 10 3/4". It has a lovely age patina and as with many drainers of its age, it shows some staining andd wear.
