Pair of unique green majolica leaf plates. These plates appear to date to the mid 1800s. They are very finely made in a green leaf pattern with the leaf stems forming the handle. There is no makers mark on the back - but, they are probably English or French. There are visible stilt marks on the rim of the foot on the back of each plate. There is a pretty, very fine age crackle to the glaze. One plate is perfect - the other has a very old approx. 2" hairline on one edge. It does not take away from the decorative appearance and is reflected in the price of the pair. Each plate measures approx. 9 1/2" by 9 3/4".
