Description

Antique butler's desk from Northern Ohio. This butler's desk is American Empire in design and dates to circa 1850. It is made of tiger maple and cherry. The tiger maple has very bold tiger graining. The drop down drawer and doors feature unusual raised geometric panels. This beautiful butler's desk is quite masculine in design and was possibly custom made. When open, the desktop reveals lovely drawers and cubby holes. The hinges and mechanism on the desk top are all in good working order and appear to be original. There are columns on the front and 2 large doors underneath the desktop. This desk measures approx. 47" tall, 47 1/2" wide, and 23" deep from the front to the back.
This is a gorgeous and rare desk. The finish does need to be well polished to bring out the true beauty of the wood grain.
