Description

Large antique English creamware soup tureen with lid and underplate. This Leedsware set is circa late 1800s. It is a soup tureen shape - but, because of the cutouts, it was probably meant to be a centerpiece and was probably used for potpourri. The underplate measures approx. 12 1/2" across, the tureen measures approx. 12 1/2" wide to the outside of the handles, and the tureen with lid measures approx. 10" tall. There is some very fine age crackle to the glaze. This is a fine and beautiful set. There are a couple of pink stains in the interior (one bled through a little on the outside)probably caused by wet potpourri. They do not hurt the overall look and quality of the tureen.
