Antique English Staffordshire transferware drainer probably made by Brownhills or Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. C.1860. This drainer was part of a set commissioned for the famed George Hotel in London. The background design is a transferware print and the flowers were handpainted. This bright floral design reflects the Chinese influence on decorating that was so popular in the 1800s. As with many drainers of this age, there is a chip on the edge. This drainer measures approx. 10 1/4" by 13 3/8".
